KHC's Conferences
Kentucky Housing Corporation sponsors/participates in two main conferences each year which are crucial to the affordable housing industry.
Housing Management Conference
Each year, in May, project-based rental professionals gather for
two-and-a-half days in Louisville at the Galt House Hotel & Suites for the
Housing Management Conference. Sessions cover a wide range of topics that
affect those working in rental housing including maintenance, service
coordinator, elderly issues, tax credits, and an owner/agent track. Each
year a conference charity is chosen and many fund-raising events take place
before and during the conference. Awards from the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development and Kentucky Housing are distributed on the last
day of the conference. The conference is coordinated by staff from
Kentucky Housing and the Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association.
Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference
In the fall of each year, affordable housing professionals gather for the
Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference. The conference is either held in
Louisville or Lexington. The conference provides valuable, up-to-date
information about affordable housing in Kentucky from industry experts and
leaders. Nowhere else in Kentucky can you receive this much information at
one time in one location about affordable housing. Various networking and
learning opportunities are also scheduled throughout the conference.
Conference sessions vary from year-to-year but typically cover homeownership
education and counseling, mortgage lending, specialized housing, housing finance
and construction, and “green” housing. Awards are also distributed during
the conference to leaders in the affordable housing industry.
