Kentucky Housing Corporation Announces Winners of 2010 “My Own Kentucky Home” Art Contest (July 01, 2010)

Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) announced the winners of the 2010 “My Own Kentucky Home” Art Contest.  The contest, held annually in June by KHC in conjunction with National Homeownership Month, drew entries from around the state from children depicting their Kentucky homes.  The winners in three different age groups, Abigail Little (left) from Dunnville, ages 10 to 12; Sixx Hernandez (middle) from Burlington, ages 7 to 9; and Judah Little (right) from Dunnville, ages 6 and below; all received art kits valued at $50 each. 

 
Kentucky’s Rents Rise While Wages Fall (May 14, 2010)

The recent economic crisis has impacted all Americans and caused prices to increase and wages to decrease.  A family needs to earn $18.44 per hour, or nearly $38,360 a year, to afford a modest rental home in the United States, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition’s Out of Reach 2010 report, released April 21, 2010.  Despite the recession, the report finds that rents continue to rise, while wages continue to fall across the country.  The estimated average wage for renters in the United States this year is only $14.44, a decline from $14.69 in 2009.

 
Kentucky Housing Corporation Honors Top 2009 Lenders (March 09, 2010)

Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), the state housing finance agency, recognized its 2009 top lending partners of affordable mortgage loans at the Fifth Annual Lender Luncheon today, Tuesday, March 9, in Frankfort.

 
FSS Program Helps Owensboro Family Buy Home (December 15, 2009)

Daniel and Tonya Boehman are the proud owners of a new home through support of the Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program.  The Boehmans were recognized during a ceremony on Monday, December 14, at their home in Owensboro.
